Welcome to the Japanese Garden at Cowden

Welcome to the Japanese Garden at Cowden

The Japanese Garden and The Stewart Woodland are currently open 7 days a week, from 10.30am to 5pm.

After exploring, why not visit our Tearoom where we serve delicious lunches and cakes, all made in house. Or, if you have brought your own, picnic tables are available in the woodland and meadow area.

Please wear your mask whilst moving around indoors. We also have hand sanitiser available throughout the garden.

About the Garden

About the Garden

"Taki Handa was the first and only woman to have designed a Japanese garden of this nature. The fact that she was appointed in 1908 is of significant interest worldwide." PROFESSOR FUKUHARA (2014)
